The National Emergency Briefing is a civil society initiative created to ensure that UK decision-makers hear directly from leading experts on the escalating climate and nature crisis. It is a non-partisan project, organised by a small team of science communicators with help from volunteers, academics, and professionals who are contributing their time pro bono or at heavily reduced rates.
The initiative is funded by Simon Oldridge and Nick Oldridge, who previously ran one of the UK’s leading roof tile manufacturers (Wienerberger UK) and are deeply concerned at the UK's inadequate action on the climate and nature crisis.
