Host a community screening of the People's Emergency Briefing
In November 2025, the National Emergency Briefing brought together leading experts to present the latest evidence on the climate and nature crisis to politicians and other influential people in Westminster. That evidence is now on the public record. The next step is to take this vital message across the UK, bringing together people from across local communities to hear the evidence and discuss how to respond.
Hosting a community Screening
The film now in production brings this evidence together in a single, accessible format designed for public engagement.
What community screenings do
Community screenings create space for people to engage with the evidence collectively and locally. By inviting MPs and local decision-makers, screenings ensure the evidence is encountered on the public record, outside Westminster, and within the communities affected by it.
What hosting looks like in practice
As a host, you would organise a local screening, invite your MP and other relevant decision-makers, followed by a post-film facilitated discussion using guidance supplied by us.
• Securing a local venue and date
• Inviting your MP and other local influential people including journalists
• Bringing together a local audience
• Convening a structured discussion following the film
• Asking the MP to join the Parliamentary Call for Government to stage a televised briefing to the nation
Support and guidance
NEB will provide a hosting toolkit covering event planning, facilitation guidance, suggested discussion formats and promotional assets.
What community screenings do
Most MPs did not attend the Westminster briefing, and have not had the benefit of this high-level assessment of threats to the UK. Local screenings are a fantastic way to encourage MPs to engage with this vitally important information. There will be an opportunity, after watching the film together, to ask the MP to join the call for briefing the entire nation in a prime-time televised emergency briefing.
“The spirit in the hall was one of grounded optimism.”
